Kevin Castle, DVM MS

Emergency veterinarian

Kevin Castle received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Zoology from Colorado State University.  He graduated from CSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2003 and followed it up with an emergency and critical care internship in Greeley.  Since then he has worked as a staff and relief ER doctor in emergency clinics in Ann Arbor and Detroit, MI, and throughout northern Colorado. Dr. Castle enjoys the challenges and fast pace of emergency medicine, and the rewards of seeing patients and owners reunited.

He also has a keen interest in the health and welfare of free-ranging wildlife.  To this end, he works with wildlife managers and researchers nationwide to preserve and improve the health of wildlife populations, by providing professional and technical assistance regarding animal health and welfare issues, zoonotic diseases, disease investigations, and training for wildlife chemical immobilization and handling.

In his free time he enjoys running trail ultra-marathons, hiking and backpacking with his wife and three border collies, and playing ice hockey.
