Lauren Prause, DVM, MS

Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine

Dr. Lauren Prause is an Ohio native and graduated from Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1993.  Next she completed a small animal internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City, the largest and busiest specialty practice in the country. It was an eye-opening experience in many ways for a midwesterner, but most importantly it was where Lauren fell in love with internal medicine.  Her next stop was Colorado where she completed a residency and Masters degree in Internal Medicine at CSU and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 1998.

Lauren has chosen to stay in Colorado ever since, working both as a faculty member at CSU’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital and in private practice.  She started Medicine on the Move in 2012 which allows her to consult with local veterinarians and help manage their toughest cases.  Helping animals enjoy a better quality of life with their families motivates her each day to provide the best veterinary internal medicine has to offer.  Lauren has a particular interest in nephrology, gastroenterology and endocrinology, and is skilled with endoscopy.

When not at work, she has fun with her husband and two daughters, two cats, three dogs, one guinea pig and six alpacas.
