Kelly McCord, DVM, MS - Four Seasons Veterinary Specialists

Kelly McCord, DVM, MS

Originally from the Fort Collins/Loveland area, I am thrilled to be back home! I earned my DVM degree in 2007 and completed my residency in internal medicine and Master of Clinical Science degree in 2011, all at Colorado State University. My research during residency focused primarily on pancreatitis, hepatology, and gastrointestinal disorders, and my clinical training provided extensive experience in all areas of internal medicine.

Following my residency, I relocated to the Pacific Northwest and practiced small animal internal medicine for over 10 years at a large private specialty and emergency hospital. I was honored to serve as the on-call veterinary internist at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma, WA, where I consulted and performed endoscopic procedures on a wide range of species, including polar bears, Sumatran tigers, seals, sea lions, clouded leopards and primates. I’ve continued to assist with special procedures at the zoo, since moving back to Colorado 3 years ago.

Since returning, I’ve worked in private specialty practice in Windsor. I’m excited to join the team at Four Seasons Veterinary Specialists and look forward to continuing to provide excellent care and service to our patients and clients!

My particular interests in small animal practice include hepatic, gastrointestinal, autoimmune and infectious diseases. I’m skilled in all types of endoscopy, including laparoscopy, and I regularly train other veterinarians in gastrointestinal endoscopy at CSU.

I’m married and share my home with a cerebellar hypoplasia cat (Twitch), a Rhodesian Ridgeback (Sequoia), two black Labs (Seeker and Sully), two Chihuahuas (Peter and Penny), and numerous salt and freshwater fish, with too many names to list! I enjoy gardening, biking, kayaking, skiing, and playing the flute (my previous career!).
