I grew up outside of Washington, D.C. and graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. My advanced training includes rotating and specialty internships, as well as residency training in small animal emergency and critical care medicine at Colorado State University. I completed an MS degree and became board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2010.

My professional path includes positions within academia and private practice, allowing me to bring a unique perspective to the pets receiving my care. My scientific contributions include more than 30 publications and book chapters. I’ve had the honor of lecturing at many national and international conferences and I enjoy providing my expertise on the various facets of emergency and critical care medicine. I also find meaning in building relationships with clients during times of pet illness.

When not helping dogs and cats requiring acute care, I enjoy spending time with my own family and pets.This includes very mischievous Nigerian Dwarf goats! I’ve also been an avid yoga student for 20 years and love to collect recipes that I will (maybe) one day cook.
