Lydia Thomsen, DVM
Emergency Veterinarian
I earned my Bachelor of Science in 2016 and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2021, both from Kansas State University. It was during my clinical year in veterinary school that I discovered my passion for emergency medicine. Following graduation, I moved home to Kansas City and completed a year-long emergency medicine training program at BluePearl Pet Hospital, an emergency/specialty referral hospital.
My husband and I moved to Colorado in 2023 and I have continued practicing emergency medicine. I enjoy the variety of cases that come through the door, with particular interests in managing trauma cases and toxicities. When families come to an ER with their pet, it sometimes ends up being a really challenging time. I appreciate being able to help families make the best decisions for themselves and their beloved pets.
When not at work, I enjoy exploring this new place we call home, with my husband, two cats and two dogs. We love exploring mountain towns, hiking, camping and skiing. Photography is a passion, enabling me to capture the gorgeous backdrops that surround us!
